Willett 10 Year 'Rare Release #3908' is a single barrel bourbon. Distilled by Willett Distillery, this expression reveals the depth achievable through careful aging. Crafted from a mash bill of 72% corn, 13% rye, and 15% malted barley, it embodies the distillery's commitment to quality.
Spring-fed, limestone-filtered water, sourced from the distillery's estate, plays a crucial role. A sour mash fermentation, lasting 3-5 days, utilizes Willett’s proprietary yeast. Distillation occurs using both a copper and stainless steel column still, and a Vendome copper pot still. Ten years of aging in new, char #4 American oak barrels from Independent Stave Company's Kentucky cooperage imparts complexity. Barrel #3908 yielded only 133 bottles.
Bottled at a cask strength of 63.3% ABV and non-chill filtered, this bourbon presents its flavors in their purest form. This release highlights the unique characteristics that emerge from a single barrel, showcasing Willett's dedication to producing exceptional, rare bourbons. Each Willett Family Estate Single Barrel Bourbon offers a distinct profile, with varying age, proof, and mash bill.
