Welcome to the world of Field & Sound Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon, a unique creation from Long Island Spirits. Established in 2007, this distillery holds the honor of being the first on Long Island since the 1800s and the 100th in the United States. Today, amidst over 1,600 distilleries across the nation, it stands out with its commitment to sustainable practices and innovative techniques.
Nestled in the picturesque North Fork of Long Island, the distillery is surrounded by centuries-old potato, corn, and rye farms. This region, known for its acclaimed wine production, boasts a microclimate akin to France's Bordeaux region. The distillery itself is housed in a twin-cupola barn, repurposed into a state-of-the-art craft distillery, where all spirits are non-chill filtered.
Field & Sound Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon is a testament to the distillery's dedication to quality and authenticity. It's crafted using the finest locally grown field corn, winter rye, and malted barley. Sweet mash fermentation, traditional pot distillation, and extended aging by the bluffs of the Long Island Sound come together to create this High Rye Maritime Straight Bourbon Whiskey, offering a finely balanced tasting experience.
Aged for no less than four years in new American charred oak casks, this bourbon benefits from its unique maritime maturation. The distillery's barrel house is located by the bluffs of the Long Island Sound, and the maritime climate, coupled with hot summers and cold winters, lends Field & Sound its distinctive taste profile.
The use of fresh yeast in the sweet mash process, as opposed to the backset used in "Sour Mash," results in a cleaner, more complex whiskey. This method also produces a less acidic mash, leading to a softer distillate.
Experience the unique taste of Field & Sound Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon - a true reflection of its Long Island heritage.
