Papalin Jamaica is a crafted blend of three distinct Jamaican rums, designed to showcase the island's rich rum heritage. This rum, a collaboration with Jamaican distilleries, reflects a "tropical dependent bottler" philosophy, meaning aging occurs entirely on the island. A five-year maturation in ex-bourbon casks enhances the rum's character.
This blend features Worthy Park, Long Pond, and Hampden distillates, each contributing unique ester profiles. Distilled in pot stills and bottled at 57% ABV, this rum remains unadulterated, highlighting pure Jamaican rum essence. Expect medicinal and mineral notes, a hallmark of Jamaican rum, to dominate the aroma and taste.
On the nose, vanilla and lemon intermingle with cane sugar, mint, and fresh walnut. With air, ginger, cinnamon, banana, and florals emerge. The palate balances vanilla and lemon, followed by rosemary and vervain. Tropical notes of pineapple and banana deepen the flavor. The finish is long and silky, culminating in a lime tart note. This edition marks the first of Papalin’s island blends, with future releases planned.
