This exceptional Joven mezcal is made from 100% Agave Karwinskii, specifically the Madre Cuishe varietal, wild-harvested after 12 years of maturation in the arid, rocky soils of San Pablo Huixtepec, Oaxaca.
The harsh environment shapes the unique complexity of the Madre Cuishe agave. Its elongated, fibrous structure presents significant challenges during production, demanding exceptional skill and dedication from Maestro Mezcalero Fortino Ramos. As Ramos notes, this agave pushed him "to bring out the very best in both the agave and myself," resulting in a truly remarkable spirit.
