Tselepos Driopi Rose 2023 is a delightful rose that captures the vibrant spirit of the Peloponnese. This wine displays a delicate pink hue, immediately inviting with its intense fruity aromas of ripe strawberry and juicy cherry, underscored by a subtle hint of sweet candies. A refreshing crispy acidity provides a lively lift on the palate.
The winemaking process for this rose begins with a cold-soaking of the Agiorgitiko grapes for a few hours prior to fermentation, conducted at a cool temperature of 8-10°C. The must is then gently drained from the skins and fermented at an even cooler 13-15°C. Following fermentation, the wine spends a short period resting on its fine lees, adding a touch of complexity. The result is a rose with a rich taste and a pleasing crispness, showcasing further notes of luscious cherry jam. It is recommended to enjoy this wine while its youthful freshness is at its peak, ideally within a year of its bottling.
Tselepos Driopi Rose 2023 is a versatile companion to a variety of cuisines, particularly excelling with Mediterranean dishes and pasta served with light red sauces. It is a creation of Ktima Driopi, located in the Nemea region, part of the esteemed Tselepos estate. Winemaker Yiannis Tselepos, drawing upon 30 years of experience with the Moschofilero grape in Mantineia, turned his attention to the Agiorgitiko of the Peloponnese, recognizing its potential for crafting high-quality red wines. Ktima Driopi was established in 2003 with a focus on showcasing the exceptional characteristics of the Agiorgitiko variety.
