Proprietor Bob Lindquist founded Qupé in 1982 with a mind to craft wines from Rhone Valley grape varieties planted in vineyards throughout California's Santa Barbara area. Rather than make wines with ubiquitous grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay, Lindquist began bottling elegant wines from Marsanne, Roussanne, and Syrah. Fans of the northern Rhône Valley's sumptuous Syrah-based Crozes-Hermitage wines will find plenty to like in this beautifully aromatic red.
