Discover a refreshing dry white wine from the renowned Chateau Suduiraut. This Bordeaux blend shines with a pale yellow hue. Swirl the glass, breathe in. The aromas, an exquisite dance, first offer delicate white flowers. Then comes a zesty burst of citrus and exotic passion fruit, giving a hint of minerality.
The first sip is round and fresh. Flavors of pink pomelo and juicy pear develop beautifully. A subtle note of toasted hazelnut adds complexity. The finish is remarkably long, with a pleasant, saline touch, echoing those delightful hazelnut and pear notes. This dry white shows the magic of the 2022 vintage. High temperatures and limited water were no match for the clay and limestone soils. The terroir produced grapes with powerful aromatics, a creamy texture, and vibrant freshness.
The blend is 54% Sémillon and 46% Sauvignon Blanc. The winemakers aged 70% in vats to preserve purity. The rest matures in barrels, with 8% in new oak, for six months. The Historic Chateau Suduiraut, famous for its luscious Sauternes, also excels at crafting dry whites. Count Blaise de Suduiraut renovated the Estate in the 17th century. He even hired the designer of the Versailles gardens. "This shows touches of honey along with crisp acidity and citrus," Said Wine Enthusiast.
