Klapøjster Mjød is just like our other mead based on honey and water, but with inspiration from a Danish tradition, we have mixed this mead with snaps. This makes Klapøjster Mjød stronger than the traditional mead and get an aftertaste of snaps, but still retains mead sweetness and rich characteristics. Content: Honey, water, hops and snaps which increases the alc. to 21,8% vol.
Dansk Mjod A/S is Scandinavia's largest meadery. All their meads are brewed based on recipes from the 1700's and the ingredients are pure and 100% natural - guaranteed free from additives of any kind. Each batch is fermented to perfection and then fortified with neutral spirit. This innovative process not only held to halt fermentation before all the unique characteristics of the honey are lost, but also extends the shelf life of the mead nearly indefinitely.
