The Color Collector Bjornson Vineyard Gamay 2022 is a limited-production, single-vineyard expression of Oregon's vibrant Gamay scene. Crafted by winemaker Bethany Kimmel, this wine showcases the electric energy and mouthwatering juiciness of Gamay from a unique site in the Willamette Valley.
Kimmel, a passionate advocate for the Gamay grape, founded Color Collector in 2015 after honing her skills at esteemed wineries throughout the region. Her dedication to minimal intervention winemaking allows the fruit to shine, capturing the true essence of the vineyard.
This Gamay hails from a single puncheon (a large oak barrel), resulting in just 50 cases of this exceptional wine. The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts in open-top vats, followed by gentle basket pressing and aging in neutral oak. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without added SO2, preserving its natural character and vibrancy.
