Capcanes Peraj Petita Rose 2024 is a compelling rose from Montsant, Spain, crafted with 100% Red Grenache grapes.
The grapes, sourced from vines up to 50 years old, are grown on clay and granite terraces at elevations up to 450 meters. Hand-harvested in early September, the fruit undergoes alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature, followed by the saignée method.1 This technique, "bleeding off" a portion of the red wine juice during fermentation, concentrates the remaining juice, resulting in a richer rosé with enhanced color, tannin, and aging potential.
This rose presents a medium pink, bright color and an aromatic bouquet of white peach, raspberries, white pepper, sage, and wild blueberries. The palate is dry and vibrant, with a lively acidity that balances the wine's full body. Flavors of fresh strawberries and cherries mingle with delicate peppery and floral undertones, leading to a tight, mineral-rich finish.
